Be Truthful to Yourself
Are you truthful to yourself? Is it so important to be truthful to yourself?
If you are truthful to yourself, then you are really for miserable life ahead of you!
“Life naturally reorganizes itself when we are true to ourselves and everything can fall into its right place. That’s when “the highest good of all” naturally happens.” Maria Erving
If you are like me, then you definitely love being praised and constantly strive towards pleasing everyone. It is in our human DNA to yearn for love and affection. You and I will always yearn to be loved by everybody. We just can’t help ourselves.
Well, the reality of the matter is that you just can’t please everyone! Trying to do so is unrealistic and will only do you more harm than good. Don’t change who you are just to be acceptable. The truth of the matter is that, if someone cannot love and appreciate you for who you are, then they have no business being in your life.
So, stop trying to please other people or to be someone else. It’s better to be an original version of yourself rather than be an exact duplicate of someone else. Awaken the greatest within you by simply loving yourself more and making no apologies for who you are. And please, be sure not to lose who you are as this, is likely to affect how others treat you.
Staying true to who you are will always motivate you to strive for excellence. You will never settle for less because you know and understand who you are. Also, to be fully truthful to yourself, you need to surround yourself with people that correct you with love and kindness when you make mistakes. You see, mistakes nurture us and help us to be better versions of ourselves.
When I was a little younger, I had friends who despite doing everything I can, focused on making sure that I changed who I was. You see, I was brought up in a family where everyone had to be kind to others and realistic in life. This in essence taught me the importance of being truthful to oneself. Despite my friends’ efforts, I maintained my ground. Though I lost my friends then, I am now surrounded by people who genuinely love me! You too can enjoy this and so much more.
Forget about pleasing everyone and for once, just focus on you. When you do so, you will realize your potential to be great and you will also save more energy. According to an article in the Huffington post, being truthful demands you understanding who you are, accepting yourself, living by your own means, and knowing your purpose in life.
